Our friends at Everywhere Beer know how to have a good time. Their disposition is sunny; they make beers and other drinks that are playful and fun to drink, and they recently opened a new taproom right here in Portland! We re thrilled to have them join the Portland beer scene, and to celebrate their official alighting here in Oregon, we brewed a West Coast IPA together that mashes up some of our favorite New Zea-land-grown hops.
We start with a mix of Pilsner malts to create a backdrop for those Kiwi hops– some low-color Pils from Canada and some more chewy and characterful European Pilsner to give the beer a little more body and richness. Hop-wise, we lean into our Mount Rushmore of New Zealand hops: Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka, Taiheke (underrated!) and Nectaron. The NZ impact is high — over 4 las per barrel of those hops alone! — so if you have ever wondered about that ‘Southern Hemisphere terroir’ that makes IPA brewers swoon, here’s a beer where you’ll find it on full display.
We hope you enjoy this latest meeting-of-the-minds with our brewer friends from the golden land!
