It’s a Me Mario

Italian Pilsner

For the summer of 2026, we are thrilled to release It’s A Me Mario!, our gold-medal winning Italian-style Pilsner, in cans for the first time. Italian Pilsner is like German Pilsner on steroids, or at least German Pilsner with a more assertive hop aroma and punch that comes from a modest dry hop. Oftentimes, European hops are not terribly well-suited to dry hopping. Something about their oil profile pushes them towards a herbal and grassy expression when used post-fermentation, so we rely on HBC 1134, a wonderful North American-grown, higher alpha “Noble type” hop. This new varietal brings a lot of traditional European attributes to the table — think floral, spicy, and sweet herbal aromas — with a hint of American terroir, so you get some subtle notes of light citrus, melon, and berry as well. We combine 1134 with a small amount of German-grown Saphir in the whirlpool and dry hop to keep the beer firmly rooted in Continental flavors. We think this beer bridges European style and American brewing sensibilities beautifully. It’s a lovely summertime pint that is both hop-forward and incredibly light!
